Beauty Booty Question

Hi everyone!!
Quick question for you...
To my horrid disbelief my spaced out blush from the neo sci fi
collection has hit pan. This blush is my perfect travel blush. I keep
it in my handbag as it is not overtly orangey but is a beautiful coral
pink that goes with most looks.
Does anyone know of a good dupe for this colour???
Any help would be much appreciated
Thank you

Mac Purple Look!!

So the other day I did a dramatic purple look but I have only just managed to post it!!
I hadn't used my pigments in a while so I decided to whip them out and use my favourite colour Mac Grape.

On the inner corner, as usual, I used Cystal Avalanche and then used Shale as a transition colour to go from the white to the deep purple that is
Grape.

After that I put a little of Electra in the certain of the lid and again blended it out.

Also a little Mac Wedge was used to transition from the purple to the brow bone as I find this warms up the skin around the eye area and helps with the blending!!!

Then I used Brule as a highlight as its matte so there is an even usuage between shimmer and matte colours.

Other make up used is Mac's blacktrack fluid line, L'Oreal Telescopic mascara and Dark edge eyeshadow on the brows.

Hope you all like!!!

Mod About You

So since my last nail post, I have painted them one of my favourite nail polishes.

Even though its winter and you are supposed to wear dark, dramatic shades, I prefer to mix it up!!! Whilst my clothes and hair are all dark, I love to have the contrast of a bright summery colour on my nails, it makes me smile!!!
The formula of this shade by OPI is really nice. Unstreaky, perfect medium between thick and thin and unlike many
people, I love the width of the
brush. Its so much quicker to do your nails with a thick brush than one where you have to keep going over and over to cover the nails.

So here is a quick picture!

Tell me what you think??? Do you like wearing brights in the winter??? (I think I like this colour so much because it makes my hands look tanned!!!)

Blog to you soon!!!

Saturday Eyes

Hi everyone

So today is Saturday which means the weekend (yey!) which in turn means more time to play around with make up in the morning!!!

So I have been really into greens lately with it being autumn but today I woke up to snow so I thought i would try something different.

I usually shy away from purples on my eyes in case in turns out to
look like a nasty bruise, but I thought what the heck, just do it!!

So I reached for my purple palette, which is tiny compared to my neutral one, and found the MAC shadowy lady quad sitting there all untouched.

[Again, I apologise for the shoddy cameraphone picture but I cannot find my camera anywhere ggrr!!]

I placed smudged violet all over the lid with my MAC 239 brush. To define the crease I used Sketch and then darkened up the outer V with shadowy lady. I placed a little of MAC's electra in the inner quarter just to brighten that area up a bit. Followed with my usual blacktrack fluid line, black kohl pencil and Loreals telescopic mascara.

I really like this look and I think it would be a good choice for a night out if you added a little Carbon to the mix and false eyelashes.

I went last minute Christmas shopping today and popped into the Perfume shop to grab a bottle of Miss Dior Cherie (is that how its spelt??) and the girl serving me gave me a compliment on this look, so thumbs up for purple/bruised eyes!!!

Does anyone else take more time on a weekend doing there makeup or is it just me??? Suppose its meant to be the relaxing days of the week but I have so many eyeshadows that I don't regularly use that I want to get my moneys worth!!!!

Hope you all have a fantastic weekend!!!

Bye!

Nail polish always chipping???

This post is going to be a half rant-half love for my nails.

Lets start with the rant......
No matter what kinds of nail polish I buy, whether it is high end or dirt cheap I can not keep it on my nails for longer than a day!!! My left index nail chips within an hour every single time!!!
I have tried base coats, top coats, one coat of polish, 3 coats of polish, wearing gloves (haha) but it will not stay on.
My family often commented on how regularly I
changed my nail colour and it was just an attempt to keep them nice looking.

I have had acrylic nails in the past but in the end I couldn't be bothered with the hour long appointment and the £25 hole in my purse.

So one day I was walking around boots and I came across the glue on nails. Usually I just walk on by after wasting money on ones that flipped off everytime I tried to do my flies up!!!But for some reasons these caught my eye....

They are the Broadway Nails Real Life Natural Nails in Short. I think these set me back about £4.

They are just completely clear nails although with the shadow of your natural nail underneath them, they look as though they have the white tips.

I wouldn't recommend buying these if you wanted nails to just slap on and out the door, but if, like me, you want to use them as a base for long lasting polish, they are perfect!!!

In fact, my polish lasts so long, that I get bored with the colour before I need to redo them. I must say, the colour wears off the very tips of the nails but this is by no means as noticeable as a big old chip.

The nails themselves also last really long. I can usually wear a set for about two weeks, although I think I read somewhere that you should only wear them for 7-10 days.

So I am now going to paint them. It is a choice between OPI Mod about you or OPI Melon of Troy???

I will keep you posted!!

Neutral Thursday

So today was when of them days where I couldnt get away with my beloved colour looks, so I had to opt for a more neutral eye. (^sigh^)

So today I used some trusted Mac products (please excuse my shaky camera work, its hard taking photos with your eyes closed!!!!)

Namely,
Expensive Pink all over the lid - when doing neutral looks, I like to keep the shimmery shade on the lid and blend into matte colours in the crease.

I scuplted the crease with Wedge as its slightly darker than my skin tone, so it can carve out my desired look without looking to 'made up'

And Dark Edge (from the Tempting quad) to darken up the corners and also as a liner to my bottom eye lash line.

I also used my fave, Crystal Avalanche, to highlight the inner corners. (and Brule on the brow bone)

I opted out of tight lining or using my usual black kohl liner on the water line as I needed it to be fresh looking.

So what do you think??

I like it! A bit boring maybe, but perfect for the days when you cant get away with slapping it all on.

Lesson for today, dont use ur cameraphone to take blog pictures!!!

Christmas Wishes

It is that time of the year again where panic shopping leads to busy town centres, long queues and Christmas grottos!!!
The countdown is roughly over two weeks which means, at least for me, only 4 shopping days left (aaarrrgghhh!!! stupid work commitments)

Whilst I will try to invest all of that time picking out pressies for my nearest and dearest, I know I won't be able to stop perusing the aisles for goodies for me!!!!

So I thought I would try and get it out of my system and do a quick Christmas wish list on here (ah-hem boyfriend, lots of hints here)

Clinique 3 step system

Now I know I have this up in my bathroom cabinet but does it stop me wanting the holiday set with the super-cool pump lid thing??? heck no!!
I love this 3 step system. Although there are nights when I just cant be bothered scrubbing off all that makeup, I do feel guilty in the morning when I see these little bottles more full than they should be.
If these should pop themselves into my xmas stocking I would be a very happy gal!!!

MAC 187 Stippling Brush

Now this is a staple of most people's brush collection, but sadly it is not in mine.
When I stumbled across the gurus on youtube, this brush was absolutely everywhere!!! I was interested in make up but not to the extreme that I am now. I didnt realise the market for fake mac brushes and innocently trundled over to ebay to pick one up on the cheap. But as you can guess, it died within a month, literally!!! It bled black all over my sink when I washed it and eventually it decapitated itself when the bristles fell out. So I gave up on it and kept to my, at the time, newly acquired beauty blender and body shop foundation brush.
But my birthday has just been and my boyfriend gave me the 'do the trick buff and line' brush set from the holiday line. Now that I have played around with that one, I am longing for the full size!!!
So lesson learnt for 2009 - do not buy fake Mac brushes on ebay - buy cheap-buy twice (as my nan would say!!)

So that is all I can think of at this moment but as I shop at the weekend, I am sure a few more things will wander into my basket!!!

What things are on your wish list this year???

A Quick Hello!!!

Hi there everyone.

Welcome to my new blog!

I thought I would jump on the band wagon and have a go at contributing to the beauty community.
I hope to post about my beauty must haves, my beauty disasters and anything else that I fancy.

I am not by any means a professional, just a gal who enjoys playing around with colour and making myself feel a little prettier!

I do hope you enjoy my posts and any requests are welcome.
